BBS News: TIME FOR A NEW LOOK

There’s a new design of Menu Screen up for view in the Main Menu.
We’d appreciate some feedback on it.

Inbetween that, we’re going through about 500 new text files, mostly adult fiction and similar stuff, and adding a few doors and new utilities.

Also, in light of the fact that many of the existing subscriptions are about to expire, we’ve now reverted back to SUBSCRIPTION, although we’d much rather call it a DONATION that bribes the SysOp into giving you a higher security level of around 90 :)

BBS News: HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BBS!

Today, the 15th of December 1995 marks the first full birthday of the HMVH Corporation BBS. Thanks to all my users for their support and don’t neglect to read the message in the BBS COMMENTS AND QUERIES AREA.

A new option on the Top Menu should make downloading of those additional GIF/JPG files a tad easier.

Text File areas 38-44 have also been re-arranged a bit, and others added.

BBS News: THE GOOD NEWS IS ALSO THE BAD NEWS

The good news is that the system is basically “back on line”. The bad news is that it’s unfortunately limited to 14400, and it will remain thus until further notice.

The better news for joke junkies is that I’m currently churning out H-MAIL?? joke archives by the dozen. Available here soon!

BBS News: STILL NOISY

The line’s still noisy, causing the USR to refuse handshaking with anything that’s not USR V.34 or generic 2400.

I don’t know how I’m going to get this fault sorted out, I might have to get another 14400 in its place, seeing as that’s worked when I tried it out. A fucking insult, that’s what it is!

On a lighter note, the BBS now boasts a total of about 2000 True Type Fonts for Windows.

BBS News: HERE IS THE NEWS

The line is still not 100%. Telkom says it’s my modem, I say it’s the line. The argument continues.
For the sake of #1, *please* try calling the system during Sunday the 24th of September at full speed, I’m out to get this sorted out soon!
I’ve added tons of new files, mostly JPG, the past weekend. Therefore
you might notice a few new file areas. Enjoy!
I’ve registered the Blue Wave mail door.
Once problem #1 is sorted out, I’ll try to latch onto a few nets.

Right, this is Volume 11 in the H-MAIL humour library series, all of which consist of little more than the jokes and other delightful stories that the various users of FidoNet, RsaNet and the Internet have cared to post.

The jokes are not edited or corrected in any way, short of a few VERY obvious mistakes they remain exactly in the form they were posted, all credits are thus due to those specific individuals.
Volume 11 also marks the first time I compile this vanilla ASCII file to a total of about 200,000 bytes.
