Umpteen hours and a full week of hard installation work have paid off… NOT!
Beats me why but I just cannot get the system to sound right.
Sure, the head unit’s a fine gadget with a nifty bunch of features but the sound quality is just plain shite. What emanates from the existing door speakers is okay, it’s just the bass that simply isn’t coming through from the boot — no matter how much it’s cranked and despite blowing a 30A fuse in the process. The harmony just ain’t there, although it all sounds fine in the laboratory environment otherwise known as the basement.
Seems that this Jetta is better insulated than my last one.
